BIRTHDAY SPEECH DELIVERED BY STEPHEN O. J. ON MAY 26^TH, 2013 DURING THANKSGIVING SERVICE @ THE VISIONHOUSE (VIRA), ILORIN.

I AM HERE FOR A DIVINE PURPOSE

For every season, there is a reason.
For every smile or cry, there is a ‘why’.
For every move, there is a motive.
For every creation, there is an intention (divine intention).
For every life, there is a blueprint – “the purpose of existence”.
And until man is in the known of his personal purpose in life, he may not fulfill his divine destiny.

My creation, my conception and my birth were none of my own choice/decision and making. Yeah! I didn’t choose to come to this world; I only found myself alive as a person way back as a child.
Thereafter, I kept probing - seeking to unravel why I am here for the first 23 years of my life which marked my real birth. It took me 23 years to have a thorough understanding of my purpose of existence and that moment of discovery marked the beginning of my life being the time I became alive.
For it is the day a person has self discovery in the light of his purpose that marks his real birthday.
Yet, I never started real living until I began to diligently walk the walk of fulfilling my discovered purpose.

By and by, life has been full of diverse experiences. There were moments of depression, despair, rejection, disappointment and moments of elevations, joy and merriment on the path of becoming who Mother Nature made me to be.
What I envisaged years back is that by today (May 26, 2013); I would have been larger than Atlantic Ocean, taller than Mount Kilimanjaro, known worldwide and popular than Coca-cola, richer than the Biblical King Solomon and more impactful than all impactful people that have lived.
However, I wouldn’t know why it has taken too long to be who I wanted to be but I do know that for every finished product, there is a process. Also, there is an appointed time for every dream/ vision to be a reality and for every prepared star to shine. This attests to the truth in the saying that ‘every glory has a story’. “No price, no prize!”

At different times, was I confronted by diverse challenging situations yet, He (GOD) kept me.
I would have long been gone, done with and forgotten but by His grace, I choose to live on because I know there is more to do, to have and to become here on earth according to Jehovah’s will.
And the truth is this; “if we don’t give up on ourselves, our very best is possible as individuals and as a people”. If you don’t give up on you, you can be the best you could ever imagine. For God’s plan towards us is always of good and not evil.

Breathe by breathe, moment by moment, from the day I breathed my first to this day – May 26^th, 2013; however my life has been, I still have every reason to be eternally grateful to God. He has never allowed any trial or temptation along the way to overcome me but to make me ‘stronger’. Even when I fall, I still stand tall. Beaten but unbroken, broken but built up again!

All the mistakes I have made, all the wrong I have done, all the past failures and successes, all my poor and best performances and what have you to mention; turned around to work for my good and I know I am not far from being who I should be in the original plan. It is just a step away from here. Having suffered the consequences of my past mistakes and failures which has given me more wisdom, how would I proceed to suffer myself the pains of doing poorly when in doing well is great gain?
Hence, if I don’t give up on me; I will surely fulfill my glorious destiny with this understanding that by operating in the consciousness of my purpose everything is possible. If you are operating in the consciousness of your purpose on earth, you can achieve everything worth achieving.

As I looked back to reflect about all that has happened in my life, how amazing to discover that a lot has happened for my favor considering all that were made possible for me such as; my creation, my conception, my birth, my infantry, my primary school education to secondary school to my days in the polytechnic to life in the university to my one year NYSC experience in Yobe State, my sojourn in Lagos till I relocated to Ilorin in early 2010, successful appendectomy surgery in 1987, healing of swollen left eye in 1996, deliverance from unknown stubborn facial rashes that defiled medications between 1998 and 2000, healed of chronic tuberculosis in 2005, victory over ritual killing attack in 2011, the smooth running of SHELTERS & TOWERS, the floating of OUNCES OF WISDOM and STPHENOJ PLATFORM among many He has done for me.

If all these were possible; now I confidently look up to the future with a heart of gratitude facing all the days ahead with the right answers. Knowing fully that there is still more possibilities to live a glorious life with a positive difference.

I believe my marriage of endless marital bliss is possible, my constant status upgrade is possible, becoming highly successful in business and in every sphere is possible, becoming the most impactful and best seller writer/ publisher / author/ public speaker as a facilitator of sound knowledge transfer is possible, being instrumental to global transformation as a positive change agent in the society is possible and a lot more of wonderful feats are very possible. With this clue, I know that your own life too is possible.

If I don’t hold back, I will become someone the whole wide world cannot do without.
I will surely fulfill my divine destiny – the purpose of my creation in Jesus name.
This is my heartfelt prayer both for me and everyone on the planet earth.

I earnestly desire that we all should live to fulfill the purpose of our creation for our life never to be a waste. By so doing, every birthday won’t only connote mere increase of age rather; it will also be significant that we are truly growing in every respect year in year out.

On this note, I am wishing myself and fellow citizens of the planet earth a highly successful sojourn in this world. We are all here for a divine purpose and we should daily live to fulfill it real good.

I am so grateful to God that I am not only advancing in age but I am richly growing in truth.
