19 FACTS A JOB SEEKER SHOULD KNOW AT SUCH A TIME LIKE THIS IN NIGERIA

19 FACTS A JOB SEEKER SHOULD KNOW AT SUCH A TIME LIKE THIS IN NIGERIA

1. Most job opportunities are not given out on merit.

2. Most publicized job openings are mere camouflage.

3. Don't waste your time searching for jobs where there is none.

4. Don't queue for job opportunities that won't get to your turn.

5. Don't look up to someone, an organization or body and government that have refused to help you.

6. It is too low to offer bribe (cash, material things or sex) to secure jobs - you may still be disappointed.

7. It is not a must to work for somebody/an organization/government after graduation.

8. In the true sense of it, there is no job security anywhere - not even federal government jobs.

9. Scarcity of jobs is only telling you to use your brain creatively to secure job.

10. You are not unemployed because of demonic and witchcraft activities - the truth is that available jobs are not in direct proportion to teaming population of applicants and, you have not discovered yourself. Everyone is made with creative abilities but only few discover and maximize theirs.

11. Avoid opting for negative vices and criminality to make ends meet. Don't lose hope in yourself to be saved of depression.

12. Spare yourself of unnecessary protests. It will only be a futile effort. The leaders themselves don't know the way out. The solution is within you.

13. Don't just pray for the way out, work out the solution in keeping with your prayers.

14. If you spend one year of being unemployed without doing any other value based undertaking to earn a living; it means you are not yet ready to work. Most people are not jobless/idle because there is no work to do, they have only decided to be.

15. Make up your mind to succeed in Nigeria. Traveling out may not be the right step to take. Many Nigerians are stranded searching for greener pastures in different countries across the world.

16. The only person you can seek employment from that won't deny you is yourself.

17. Take the bold step and begin the journey to be self employed today.

18. Think creatively, identify your areas of interest and get equipped in that respect. Consider problems around you, develop yourself (i.e get a skill) to come up with solutions. Package it as a business outfit. Overcome your ego - it doesn't have to be a white collar job. Be comfortable with starting small and learn how to grow gradually. Build excellent human relation with a touch of noble conducts. Develop capacity for discerning and maximizing opportunities that is for you to explore. Trust in God for success and then, begin to make your money through value added products or services.

19. If someone has not created the job, you cannot secure it. That is why you should take it upon yourself to create jobs. By so doing, it won't be long you would be an employer of labour. Then, you would be regarded as a deliverer by whoever you save from experiencing what you once suffered.

I AM PERSONALLY A TESTIMONY. I HAVE BEEN THERE BUT I CHOSE NOT TO DIE THERE (i.e I didn't abandon myself to endless search for job though the authority and the society careless). I CAN BOLDLY SAY; FOR ME TO SEEK FOR EMPLOYMENT AGAIN IS TO CONDESCEND. IT PAYS TO BE AN EMPLOYER THAN AN EMPLOYEE.
